Blue Ridge Junction Returns To Carowinds Spring 2019
Covering the western portion of North Carolina and a sliver of South Carolina’s upstate, the Blue Ridge Mountains region offers a majestic landscape, vibrant colors and undeniable charm. Enjoy the natural, easy-going culture of the Carolina mountains at Blue Ridge Junction, a new, immersive 7-acre themed area at Carowinds. Sit a spell and savor home-grown flavors at our new Blue Ridge Country Kitchen restaurant. Or hang on tight and get twice the bite during a high-speed, backwoods chase on the new Copperhead Strike, the Carolinas’ first double launch coaster. Plus, plenty of surprises ahead. It’s all opening at Blue Ridge Junction in 2019! Although this land is all new for the 2019 season, in the earlier parks history there was a former Blue Ridge Junction land at Carowinds. With Black Beards Revenge making a return in Carolina Harbor, the park is going back to its roots making old new again.
The area will feature a new dinning option for guests with food options crafted by the parks very own chef. The food will be a reflection of the Carolinas and have offerings you’d find in a mom and pop backroad kitchen restaurant in the blue ridge mountains. The former “Wings” restaurant will be transformed into the all new Blue Ridge Country Kitchen.

The all new Blue Ridge Country Kitchen will have a large indoor air conditioned dinning room, and will be serving up some good ol’ southern favorites. Including all sorts of Chicken. At the media day for Blue Ridge Junction we got to sample some of the new food options that will be available at the Country Kitchen next spring.
If you are in the park anytime this season, don’t miss to get your photo opportunity with Granny at multiple photo spots throughout the park.
The area will also feature the highly themed new coaster; Copperhead Strike. A Mack rides double launching terrain coaster.
This ride will feature two launches and one very unique launch with an airtime hill in the middle of it. The coaster is set to open in spring of 2019, and will begin going vertical I’m the first few weeks of September. The rollercoaster will sit on the former location of the ThunderRoad racing rollercoaster.
