Are you going to be at Walt Disney World on July 4th? Looking for ways to celebrate while you’re there? Check out our recommendations below!

Epcot

On July 4, Voices of Liberty will have special evening concerts at 5:30 pm, 6:45 pm and 8 pm at the America Gardens Theatre. Be sure to get an Instagram worthy photo with patriotic Mickey and friends outside The American Adventure during the day. Then, at 9pm, celebrate with “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” with a special all-American finale!

Magic Kingdom

“Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will be rocketing into the sky at 9:15 pm on both July 3 and 4. DJ parties will also be happening in both Frontierland and Tomorrowland! If you’re already going to be in the parks during this week, we recommend catching the July 3rd fireworks at Magic Kingdom and then watching fireworks on July 4th at another park. This way, you get to see two July 4th firework shows!

Hollywood Studios

Spend the Fourth using the force at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular!” This out of this world show takes off at 10 pm. You can also join Mickey as he faces good and evil in Fantasmic! at 9pm and 10:30pm.

Animal Kingdom

While Animal Kingdom does not have any fireworks, you can catch “Rivers of Light” (the normal nighttime spectacular) at 9:15pm or 10:15pm.

If you plan on watching any of these fireworks shows, we highly recommend arriving at least two hours in advance (maybe even more than that). You’ll want to stake out a spot for the fireworks in the afternoon, as other guests will be doing the same. The parks also tend to get very crowded during this week and they may even close a park or parks due to capacity. Keep in mind that it will be busy!

Not planning to be in the parks? That’s OK too! You can still celebrate outside of the Disney parks (without the insane crowds)!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

You can get a great view of the fireworks from the Polynesian. The resort has a beautiful beach that hugs the Seven Seas Lagoon. Even though you won’t be able to see the projections on the castle, you will get a great view of the fireworks themselves.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Just as close to the Magic Kingdom is Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Contemporary is a perfect way to watch the fireworks while being outside of the park. Located only half a mile outside of the Magic Kingdom, the resort provides several outdoor viewing area’s that are really something else. Just like the Polynesian, you won’t be able to see the projections, but you’ll get a great view of the fireworks.

Transportation and Ticket Center

Although it’s not the most glamorous spot, the Transportation and Ticket Center does feature fantastic views of the fireworks. Plus, once the show ends, you’ll be ready to hop in your car and leave!

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you have a fireworks plan for July 4th! You will not be able to arrive last minute (in a park) and get a viewing spot. Keep in mind that the parks will be busy and traffic will most likely be backed up. If you plan for the worst, you’ll come out ahead and be able to enjoy a great view of the fireworks no matter where you are!

Here’s to hoping you see a great show! Happy Independence Day!
