Hey everyone it’s December and that means it is time for Christmas! Christmas is my favorite season because of all the lights, decorations, and the overall good cheer! At Sea World Orlando there are so many things to experience such as Meet N Greets with Special Characters, Special Eatery, Shopping, Shows and of course the Rides!
To see a full recap of the media event you can see:
First up I want to discuss the Meet N Greets, have the opportunity to take photos with some of the most beloved characters like Rudolph & Friends, Shivers the Polar Bear and of course the Jolliest man of the Year Mr. Santa Clause. At Rudolph’s ChristmasTown is where you can meet Rudolph, Clarice, Bumble, and Yukon Cornelius from the classic family Christmas television special, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. Along with meet and greets, there are also a bunch of photo opportunities such as grabbing a smooch under the mistletoe or grab the family and jump in a 15 foot tall snow globe for the perfect Christmas photo. Below you can see the Walkthrough of the Rudolph’s Christmastown.
Next I would like to share with you the Special Eatery. Wander the “Christmas Market” as Sea World calls it and experience the enticing flavors of freshly popped holiday kettle corn, waffle cone S’mores, and a creative twist on apple crisp. Satisfy your hunger for Christmas goodies with a variety of stuffed donuts, short-rib mac & cheese and French fries with your choice of toppings. There are plenty of seasonal craft brews or a specialty flavored hot cocoas you can sample and enjoy live music on the lakeside Gazebo Stage with the Sea of Trees dancing across the water. SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration offers a sampler lanyard that is redeemable for specialty foods and beverages. There is an option for 5 items for $25 or a 10 item sampler for $40.
As the Christmas Season is almost here and you want to pick up some of the limited quantity or seasonal items Sea world has a park pick-up station so when you’re leaving for the day, you can pick up everything you purchased so you don’t have to lug it around the park, or take it to the car and come back in. Sea World also offers shopping online and shipping straight to your home for those who can’t make it in person.
Next up let’s talk about events, I think this Year Sea World Christmas Celebration is the best it has had in years. Recently the Sea World Entertainment brand has been through a lot with change of ownership and restructuring, but this Christmas event was very well put together. With over Three Million Lights, Seven different Breath-taking shows, and Flurries of “Snow” I was really impressed how festive this event truly is. It surely has me in the Christmas Mood! If you aren’t a Show person, I still highly recommend seeing the “O Wondrous Night”, “Sea Of Trees” and “Winter Wonderland on Ice”. These Three Shows are truly outstanding, and is well worth planning to squeeze these into your day at Sea World. “O Wondrous Night” is about the story of Christmas, and includes some special animal guests,
the “Sea of Trees” is a spectacular light show across the lagoon at Sea World Orlando,
and “Winter Wonderland on Ice” is an Ice-Skating show that will take your breath away! The Other Shows are awesome as well, but these three were the one’s that interested me the most since usually I go to theme parks for the rides.
Speaking of rides…
Enjoy These POV’s from some of the parks famous rides!
This is the Kraken Unleashed at Sea World Orlando, it is a Floorless Steel Coaster made by B&M opened in June of 2000. The Kraken is 4,177 feet long, 150 feet tall and reaches speeds up to 65 miles an hour. On this 2 minute journey, you will experience 7 inversions so hold on tight! Last Year Sea World Debuted “Kraken Unleashed” a Virtual Reality Experience while riding the roller coaster, but things weren’t working out well due to things like technical malfunctions, and high wait times so the VR has been temporarily removed and possibly permanently gone. The VR lasted about a year but who knows, I personally have been on this ride with the VR and the first time the video didn’t sync up with roller coaster so it made me very sick. I did give it another go and the second time the VR video was synced pretty well, but it wasn’t all that great so we will have to wait and see if the VR makes a come back.
Next Up the Manta,
The Manta is a Steel Flying Coaster made by B&M this ride opened in May of 2009. It is 3,359 feet in length, 14o feet tall, and reaches speeds up to 56 mph; the manta is 2 minutes and 35 seconds in duration and features a grand 98 foot tall Pretzel Loop. I love this Ride, I can’t Ride it more than twice in a row, but I have to ride at least once every visit. The theming to this ride is very beautiful so if you’re ever around Sea World Around Sunset, this ride is a beautiful backdrop.
If you’re an Animal Lover like me, but still need to squeeze in a ride than Antarctica is for you!
Here is Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin it is a trackless dark ride. Journey on with hatchling “Puck” as he takes you across the bottom of the world. At the end of this ride you get a wonderful surprise, and get an up close view of the Penguins at Sea World.
Lastly, my favorite, Mako.
Mako is a Steel “out and back” made by B&M, it was opened to the park June, 10 2016. Mako is Currently the Record holder for Tallest, Fastest, Longest Coaster in Orlando. This ride is 4,760 feet long, 200 feet tall, and reaches speeds up to 73 miles an hour. This is my Favorite Coaster in Florida it has awesome air time, and great corners. “Mako” refers to the Mako Shark, it is one of the fastest moving species of sharks. Adjacent to Mako is Sea World ” Shark Encounter” where you can see many different kinds of sharks. Also Mako is my Favorite place to be at night for the Christmas Celebration. The decorations & lights are coordinated to match the paint on the ride ( Purple & Teal ), and it is magnificent. Below you can see the Walkthrough of the Christmas Celebration Décor.
