VEKOMA Manufacturing Announces New Ride Models For Iaapa Trade Show 2018

With Iaapa Day one well underway I am going to be bringing you updates, news, and more from this epic trade show here in Orlando Florida.

While Vekoma has been notorious for having some of the worst rollercoasters ever conceived; the company has made a total 180 in the last few years from the worst to some of the best.

With rides like the Lech coaster, TRON, and FLY; Vekoma has been moving back up in the ranks. Well..the company decided to take their arguable worst coaster model ever;  The SLC, and turn it into this:

Yes, you are seeing that right. It is a new SLC!!  The company released the above photo of concept art of the attraction and in my opinion it looks amazing. It looks to use their new style track that many of you guys know from the Lech Coaster or Tron. The ride will feature a similar track layout to the original SLC designs, but will feature some reworked much smoother elements for riders to enjoy. We do not know what theme parks will be purchasing this model yet, but I will be keeping you updated on further developing news.

Check out a POV of  the first generation SLC from VEKOMA below:

This is a first generation SLC, which is noted as the worst inverted rollercoaster due to head banging issues on the trains. While I persoanly enjoy the SLC coasters I bet a lot of people are happy to see VEKOMA re-imagimning the classic coaster design.

We also have gotten photos of the new VEKOMA flying rollercoasters trains like the ones we will be seeing on FLY.

They look amazing!!! I can’t wait to get my ride on a new generation VEKOMA flying rollercoaster soon. Who knows, maybe this could be what is replacing Firehawk at Kings Island. I am excited to report more of all the new and exciting advancements from VEKOMA manufacturing. Make sure you check back this week for more of our IAAPA Coverage, and leave a comment below on your thoughts on this all new coaster design!
